Understanding Your World

[This class is currently on summer sabbatical. Class resumes Sunday, September 4, 2005.] Christian students are bombarded with ideas, worldviews, and opinions from every direction. How does one navigate this confusing sea of challenges while retaining faithful to God's truth? In this semester-length study we will explore Biblical perspective on a variety of issues facing young Christians, such as relationships with family, friends, authority figures, members of the opposite sex; challenges from atheism, postmodernism, materialism, and other contemporary worldviews; the nature of war, social justice, environmentalism, bioethics, and other urgent social issues; and other social, moral, politcal, and theological concerns.
