Children's Sunday School
Over three thousand years ago, the people of God were commanded to
write the words of God upon their hearts. Having done that, they were
then instructed to pass their faith and hope on to their children.
Deuteronomy 6 says,
"You shall teach these words diligently to your children, and
shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the
way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a
sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You
shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates"
(Deut. 6:4-6).
That is the goal for our children’s Sunday School class: to pass the
torch of truth to the next generation . The truth that we try to instill
into the hearts and minds of the church’s children is that God is great
and we are to love Him with all of our heart, all of our soul, all of
our mind and all of our strength. Our children learn about God through
the stories of the Bible. They learn of God’s great acts in history.
They learn of Jesus’ great work to rescue us from sin. They memorize
Bible verses which help them respond to the Lord in obedient faith.
In all of the learning, our children are loved and cherished as gifts
given to us by God. They are trained as weapons in the hand of a
warrior, arrows which are shot out of the church and into the world to
do battle with the enemy (Psalm 127).
Classes: We are currently running three classes, one for
pre-Schoolers (ages 3-5), one for children (ages 6-10 ), and one for teens and pre-teens
(ages 11 and up). We also have nursery services during the Sunday School
hour for children 3 and under.
