Pastor Tamerius Speaking at MU
Pastor Tamerius will address this week's meeting of the University of Missouri's Christian Faculty and Staff Fellowship. His topic is "Torture and Eucharist: Being the Church for the Broken and Oppressed."
Pastor Tamerius recently returned from Africa where he met with Christians struggling under the weight of state-sponsored oppression. The Church has been in this position before, of course, and has learned much about its identity as a rival body politic, following the way of Jesus, enacting the kingdom through deeds of love and mercy. Pastor Tamerius will share with us his experiences in Africa and his thoughts on the Church's role in healing that part of the broken world.
The meeting, Friday October 8 at 12 noon in 136 Mumford Hall, is free and open to the public.
