Inquirer's Class
New to Christ Our King, or visiting and wanting to know more about our church? Pastor Tamerius will host a four-week Inquirer's Class during our Sunday School hour, 9:00-10:00am, starting October 3. The class provides an overview of Christ Our King -- our history, our priorities, beliefs, commitments, and vision for the future -- and provide an opportunity to ask questions of our leadership. We look forward to seeing you there.

Vocal Recital
Strawsinger Vocal Studio will present seven local students in recital at 4 p.m this Saturday, August 21. Vocalists performing at this event are HILARY SAMPLE, JOE DAWSON, KELSEY FLETCHER, SARAH HAVEY, JON WEEKLEY, GREG BLAIR and RYAN McNEIL.
Several of these students and their faculty have performed recently in the production of Gilbert & Sullivan's opera, "The Mikado", presented as part of the Missouri Symphony Society's Summer Classical Series. A Columbia Tribune article about this musical presentation details the future plans of several students, including Ms Sample, a 2004 Hickman HS graduate who this Fall is entering the vocal performance program of the prestigious Oberlin (OH) Conservatory of Music.
The upcoming recital, which includes a variety of music from contemporary to classical to sacred, will be held at Columbia's Broadway Christian Church, 2601 W Broadway, under the direction of Dr Michael Straw, with Judy Shaw accompanying.
