College Sunday School

A new Sunday School class for college students (and young adults) begins this Sunday, February 1 at 9:00am in the Benton/Bingham Room of the Memorial Union. The semester-length class, led by Scott Matz and Peter Klein, is titled "The Seven Deadly Sins and The Seven Cardinal Virtues."

We'll set out on a voyage of discovery, aiming to learn more about sin and salvation, spiritual sickness and health. We'll address such things: why is my heart such an enigma? Why are our desires so disordered? Why is sin so tempting when it is so unbelievably insane? What good work is God doing in my life to change me? How do I go about adding moral excellence to my life (2 Peter 1:5)? We hope you will join us for this study.

More information, including a schedule of topics, is available here. College students, young adults, and teenagers are welcome.

THE HIDING PLACE

Jefferson City's Stained Glass Theatre presents the live production of The Hiding Place Thursday January 15 through Saturday February 7.

Stained Glass Theatre is located at 830 High Street, Jefferson City, Missouri 65101, and they can be reached by phone at 573-634-5313 or e-mail them at info@stainedglasstheatre.org. Ticket prices, times and reservation policy of Stained Glass Theatre are stated on their website.

This is the true story of Corrie ten Boom and her family in Nazi-occupied Holland and their ultimate imprisonment by the Gestapo in 1944. Led by Corrie's father, a Christian watchmaker whose first loyalty was to his God, the ten Boom family helped many Jews to escape the Gestapo's clutches. At great peril to themselves, the ten Booms willingly and ingeniously created a variety of "hiding places" in their home, thus saving the lives of many Jews before the family members themselves were arrested and imprisoned. But that's NOT the end of the story...

More on this incredible story can be found at Corrie ten Boom Museum - The Hiding Place and through Return to the Hiding Place, a book written by the ten Booms' first "hider", Hans Poley.
