College Ministry
Each fall an army of college students arrives in
Columbia. They come here to get an education. They come
here to chart a course for the future. They come here to
watch the Tigers beat the Jayhawks. While in Columbia
they learn to do laundry for the first time. They learn
to survive on Ramen Noodles. They learn what goofy
things await the body and mind after a string of
all-nighters.
If they happen to attend Christ Our King, they also
discover a home away from home. They meet people who
care for them. They enjoy a change of scenery by hanging
out with families. They get a home-cooked meal. And
they even get an opportunity to babysit our children! We
consider it a privilege to minister to and with these
students during their time in Columbia. At this
important crossroad in life when many are choosing their
profession, their spouse, and a philosophy to live by, we
aim to do our part by encouraging them in the faith and
equipping them for the future.
